Ministry Involvement

Precious Pearls Children Outreach founded by Geoffrey and Linda Kibii

  • ·         December 2000, a Mission Trip to Kenya:  Jim became friends with Geoffrey and Linda Kibii  as a result of having taken his first mission trip.  Jim went to Kenya with Richard Yandle, then Field Director, Awana Clubs International to conduct a youth camp in Nanyuki near Mount Kenya.   Jim was introduced to Linda there at camp.  Linda had come to camp with a team of youth from Eldoret and was assigned to the same team as Jim.   During team presentations one night at camp, Linda sang about the street children, pleading for God to send someone to help them.   This soulful plead became a shared burden as Jim took measures to meet Geoffrey upon returning from Kenya.   Geoffrey at that time, having left a government job in Kenya to prepare for full time ministry, was in the US beginning his education in urban ministries and child counseling.  After returning home from his mission trip to Kenya, Jim sought out Geoffrey in January 2001 at Beulah Heights Bible College in Decatur Georgia and became quick friends.
  • ·         October 2003 the Ministry Organized :  Over the years, a friendship and shared burden for street children became a ministry opportunity – Precious Pearls Children Outreach was organized by Geoffrey as a non-profit in 2003.
  • ·         October 2006 a vision defined:   Jim responded to join the organization, taking on the office of President.    At this point a friendship of encouragement became an enabling working relationship focused at shipping a container of equipment to Kenya.
  • ·         March 2010, a goal achieved:  the friendship continues, yet tested by the trials of this first project to ship the container.  In March, Jim returned to Kenya for the first time since December 2000 visiting Geoffrey and Linda in their home, surveying opportunities for ministry to street childen and taking delivery of the container of equipment which shipped from the US in December 2009.
